Cheam Fields is part of the LEO Academy Trust. It is situated in pleasant surroundings to the north of Cheam Village, in a quiet residential area with several parks and local shops nearby which allows us to have strong community links.
It is also in close proximity to the historical building of Whitehall which the children visit during their time at the school.
The main school building has a mixture of modern and older type classrooms, all of which are bright and attractive and some have direct access to a patio or courtyard area. There is a Community Room, a Library equipped with computers, a Media Study equipped with computers for group work and two halls which are used for Physical Education lessons and assemblies and as dining halls at lunchtime. The separate nursery building is sited close to the main school and is fully secure.
All classroom have interactive whiteboards. The school has a wireless network with iPads and Chromebooks for the children to use in computing lessons and across the curriculum.
The school benefits enormously from a heated, indoor swimming pool with excellent changing rooms. This is used throughout the year for children in Reception to Year 4. Reffell’s Swimming Academy and Splish 'n' Splash provide popular after-school swimming clubs. The children in Years 5 and 6 swim at Cheam Leisure Centre which is a short walk away.
The school grounds are spacious and pleasant. There is a hard surface playing area, a grassed area, a MUGA used for sports and at playtimes and a quiet area where children can sit and talk. We also have a Wildlife Eco Garden for nature studies and a Trim Trail.
The site is next door to Cheam High School, giving our children the chance to share some experiences and facilities.
